CRCRC (Columbus Radio Control Racing Club) holds the most exciting show on dirt right here in Columbus Ohio! The 2009 Midwest Electric Championships Presented by Muchmore and the Midwest Nitro Championships Presented by O'Donnell Racing roar back into Columbus in January. Each year CRCRC holds biggest indoor race of its kind in the United States. The CRCRC Midwest Electric Championships, 22 years strong, and the CRCRC Midwest Nitro Championships, 14 years strong, have been bringing the top racers from all over the world. These races are known for very tight competition and some of the most exciting finishes in the hobby. If you want to see the best and run with the best this event is a must. Both of these exciting events will also be broadcast live internationally by LiveRC (www.liverc.com). This will include interactive chat real time race scoring and much more. These races are held on a large off-road motocross style track for hobby grade R/C cars. The electric powered cars are 1/10th scale, with different classes and styles of buggies and trucks. Most of the competitors build these vehicles from the ground up and they are very close in design and function to their full size Baja racing counter parts. The nitro powered cars are both 1/10th and 1/8th scale replicas of full size Off-Road racing cars and buggies. They are powered by small 2 stroke engines that can hit speeds in excess of 50 miles per hour. These cars can race for extended amounts of time with the help of pits stops. All of this adds to the excitement of the racing. These races are put on by the Columbus Radio Controlled Racing Club (www.crcrc.com). This is a non-profit club that puts on races in Hilliard, Ohio at the Franklin County Fairgrounds each winter. CRCRC has been organizing and promoting races for over 22 years and brings huge numbers of racers from all over right here to Columbus. Electric Practice: Jan 14-15-16.
