FEATURED ACTIVITES ON AUG. 1 AT THE OHIO STATE FAIR

With competitions, entertainment, art exhibits, great food and much more, the Ohio State Fair offers a wide variety of exciting options for fairgoers. Tomorrow’s events include:
AEP Ohio Day
Alice Cooper with special guest Blue Öyster Cult
AEP Ohio Concert Series
WCOL Celeste Center, 7:30 p.m.
Rock star Alice Cooper ignites the stage with music from his new CD “Along Came a Spider.” For three decades Blue Öyster Cult has been entertaining fans. Started in upstate New York, this classic rock band has produced more than 20 albums and CDs.

Cox Fine Arts Center sidewalk, 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Come See artists create urban works of art at the Fair in front of the Cox Fine Arts Center.
National Holstein Dairy Futurity
JD Equipment Coliseum presented by 95.5 The Hawk
Come see the premier two-year-old Holstein cattle in the state of Ohio. After being registered as babies, it is now time to show at this year’s Ohio State Fair. Don’t miss the fun.
Bench Press and Dead Lift Competition
Buckeye Sports Center, Noon
Come see some awesome athletes as they bench press and dead lift amazing amounts of weight.
Justin Roberts & The Not Ready For Naptime Players
Main Street Stage presented by WBWR, 1 p.m.
This pre-school teacher turned children’s rockstar is sure to entertain. His album “Great Big Sun” was recognized as “The Best Music Gift of the Year” by “Sesame Street Magazine.”
4-H Small Engines and Lawn Care Science Day
K12/Ohio Virtual Academy Youth Center, 8:45 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Come learn everything you need to know about small engines and lawn care from some of the brightest kids Ohio has to offer.
AT&T Tour
East of the Rhodes Center
Stop by the AT&T Fan Zone Tour to see the latest in wireless devices. Free prizes will be given out to all that register, so stop by to play games, check your e-mail or make a call.
Gates are open from 9 a.m. – 10 p.m.

The Ohio Expo Center is proud to host the Ohio State Fair. With a spectacular midway, big-name entertainment, hundreds of exhibits and one of the largest junior fair shows in the nation, the 2009 Ohio State Fair will run July 29 – Aug. 9.
