FEATURED ACTIVITES ON AUG. 4 AT THE OHIO STATE FAIR
Aug. 4 Highlights
COLUMBUS, August 04, 2009
With competitions, entertainment, art exhibits, great food and much more, the Ohio State Fair offers a wide variety of exciting options for fairgoers. Tomorrow’s events include:
AAA “Show Your Card and Save” Day
AAA members: Show your membership card at a booth outside entrance gates to receive a $4 admission coupon for each member in your party.
Kenny Rogers and Glen Campbell
AEP Ohio Concert Series
WCOL Celeste Center, 7:30 p.m.
American country music singer-songwriter Kenny Rogers is known for his ultimate hits including “Sweet Music Man” and “Buy Me a Rose.” Golden Globe award winner Glen Campbell has a legendary music career spanning five decades, achieving chart-topping success.
Ohio State Fair Pork Rib-Off
Central Park, 11:30 a.m.
Fairgoers will be treated to free ribs and pulled pork. Taste some of the states top notch BBQ ribs and pulled pork.
Earth Block
North end of grounds by Solar House and Heritage Arts and Crafts, 9 a.m. – 10 p.m.
“Everything Old is New Again” as a low cost, energy efficient, 100 percent sustainable house is constructed. See for yourself how these Compressed Earth Blocks are made and observe the construction.
Meijer Summer Mobile Tour
South end of Kiddieland, 9 a.m.
The Meijer Mobile Virtual Playground is a fully staffed mobile unit featuring an on-site HP photo creations area, Nintendo Wii gaming, meijer.com kiosks for virtual shopping and Meijer Brand product sampling / demonstrations.
Patrick McLaughlin Band
Main Street Stage presented by WBWR, 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
This nationally recognized trio is known for their innovative, deep-rooted blues that is sure to impress.
Belgian Horse Halter Classes
JD Equipment Coliseum presented by 95.5 The Hawk
Watch beauty and power mix today at the Belgian horse halter classes. After the halter classes stick around to watch the Percheron hitch and team horse classes. It will be a jam packed day at the Coliseum.
Gates are open from 9 a.m. – 10 p.m.

The Ohio Expo Center is proud to host the Ohio State Fair. With a spectacular midway, big-name entertainment, hundreds of exhibits and one of the largest junior fair shows in the nation, the 2009 Ohio State Fair will run July 29 – Aug. 9.
